I'm currently listening to the soundtrack from Breaking and Entering. I really can't recall where I got this soundtrack from, as I haven't even seen the actual film; but it is a gorgeous, gorgeous soundtrack - I highly recommend it!

In other news, I am packing books into boxes, which is always depressing - but I know next week I will be taking them back out of said boxes and carefully arranging them in my new library in my new nest! I've got a new ceramic frog friend (pictures next post!), some new flowers on my patio (next post, again!) and I have yet to see Toy Story 3, shame on me! It seems summer might (?) be here? It was muggy and hot today, I still can't cool down. Ooee. Time to write a biology paper!

Favorite Thing of the Week!!

I just found this via StumbleUpon and needed to share it. I have never seen a giraffe autopsied before, and here Richard Dawkins is explaining how the laryngeal nerve is another fact that supports natural selection and evolution. I find these things absolutely fascinating! I love biology!

Favorite things!

Hello all, I've been plenty busy with work and school and all, so the favorite things have been piling up like nobody's business. So here's a few, maybe I'll post more later. Tada!

Just a taste of my internet findings for now! I spend far too much time surfing the web... I should be stitching! I've got loads and loads of patterns to get started in on! I'm also super excited for my super fantastic basement I'll be starting to nest in come the end of June. A whole space to myself! I'm going to have a sewing table and a film cutting table and a drawing table and EVERY OTHER KIND OF TABLE IMAGINABLE. There are also going to be plants, a lot of plants. And my projectors are going to be on stands. I cannot wait!! Gwee!

Favorite thing of the week!

I'm still inindated with papers and exams, so no real news to report. Except for this photograph of a tortoise hatchling:

In other news, check out this mind boggling article at The National Geographic Society about one of the many sea dwelling animals affected by by-catch, sea turtles! Common commercial fishing techniques such as long-lining prove fatal to many animals not intended to be caught, but become ensnared in nets and hooks, only to have their bodies tossed back into the sea when the line is drawn back in.

In less depressing news, after the (not so surprising) news of CITES being unable to pass the proposal to help protect sharks, the UK set up a marine reserve around the Chagos Islands, the largest yet! Read the BBC article here.

Favorite thing of the week!

Hullo all! I've decided to do a 'Favorite thing of the Week' segment! Of course, I may have more than one favorite thing of the week, or numerous favorite things of the week, so basically this is a 'Favorite thing of whenever', but I figure 'of the week' is just a better title, haha. I got the idea from this amazing blog called A Beautiful Mess! Wonderful DIY, photography and awesomeness.

SO HERE IT IS! MY FAVORITE THING OF THE WEEK!

 What's this you ask? It's the Tufted Pixel Rug! See it on Design Milk! And it is my favorite thing of the week! Yay!

In other news, exams are fast approaching so I wont have much time to do much in the coming weeks, but my veggie garden is growing and my tallest tomato plants are 5" tall! I'm longing for summer, sandals and shorts, but the moody weather here just wont have any of that.
